Prep Highlights: Ridgefield soccer clinches title

Max Hauser scored two goals, and Travis Gottsch added two assists as the Ridgefield boys soccer team beat Hudson’s Bay 5-0 to clinch the 2A Greater St. Helens League title.

The Spudders will open the 2A district tournament at home Saturday against the winner of Thursday’s pigtail match.

Pedro Bettiol-Gomez, Jason Osborn and Max VanArnam added goals for the Spudders in the win.

Stars of the day

• J.J. Dobles, Washougal boys soccer, had three saves in goal as the Panthers beat Hockinson 1-0 for their first league win.

• Hunter Leach, La Center boys soccer, scored two goals as the Wildcats beat King’s Way Christian 4-0.

• Silas Griffith, Ridgefield boys track and field, placed second in the mile and third in the 3,200 at the Shelton Invitational.

• Savanna Craig, Mountain View girls track and field, won the 800 meters at the Shelton Invitational one day after placing fourth in the mile at the Nike/Jesuit Twilight Relays.
