Here are the creel checks from Saturday’s opening-day of trout season in Southwest Washington. Note: Most local lakes are open all year with only a few opening in late April. Swift Reservoir will open June 4.

Kidney Lake — 33 anglers with 51 fish kept and 136 released. Low effort due to uncertainty if lake was open to public. (Weyerhaeuser has lake up for sale)

Rowland Lake — 45 anglers with 147 fish kept and 100 released. Windy conditions.

Spearfish Lake — 43 anglers with 60 fish kept and 16 released.

Horsethief Lake — Seven anglers with 4 fish kept.
