Starting Monday and lasting about a week, drivers might experience a little extra congestion around the intersection of Northeast 94th Avenue and Padden Parkway.
Traffic flows will be restricted in the area as Tapani, a Battle Ground-based contractor hired by Clark County, will be working in the middle of 94th Avenue immediately south of Padden Parkway.
Northbound traffic will be forced to turn east at Padden Parkway. Drivers will not be allowed to turn west on Padden Parkway or continue through the intersection.
Southbound vehicles will be required to tun east or west on Padden Parkway. They also will not be allowed to continue through the intersection.
Vehicles will not be allowed to turn south from Padden Parkway onto Northeast 94th Avenue.
The work requires good weather, and it could be rescheduled if it rains. Alternative routes will be available for drivers who want to avoid the construction zone: Northeast 88th and 76th streets to the north and south. Northeast 107th Avenue and Northeast Andresen Road are options to the east and west.
The project started last fall when Tapani started improving a three-quarters of a mile section of Northeast 94th Avenue between Northeast 99th Street and just south of Padden Parkway. The project included building acceleration lanes on Padden Parkway for greater safety. The extra lane allows drivers time and space to get up to speed before merging into traffic.
On Padden Parkway, deceleration lanes are being improved or added to make room for vehicles to slow down before making a right turn onto Northeast 94th Avenue.
