A transient man suspected of burglarizing a Highway 99 convenience store was sentenced Wednesday in Clark County Superior Court to 16 1/2 months in prison.

Nathan Olds, 35, pleaded guilty to attempted second-degree burglary in connection with the March 23 incident at Lyle’s Village Pantry.

Clark County sheriff’s deputies responded to an alarm at about 1:30 a.m. at 10709 N.E. Highway 99 and found a man, identified as Olds, inside, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in Superior Court.

Olds threw a brick through the store’s front window, went inside and stole cigarettes and beer, the affidavit said.

On Wednesday, Judge Suzan Clark agreed to follow the attorneys’ previously agreed-upon sentence. Olds was given credit for 28 days in custody. He will have to pay more than $1,400 in restitution.
