After nine years leading the Ridgefield Police Department, Chief Carrie Greene is set to retire on May 6, she announced Monday. She started at her current position in 2007.

Greene also worked for the Washington State Patrol for 25 years, retiring in 2004.

Greene thinks that this time, the retirement might actually stick, saying she has some personal things going on and that she feels like it’s time to walk away.

“You never know what’s ahead, but I don’t have anything I’m going to,” she said. “This is definitely retirement.”
