Our advertised warm weather has arrived, and today we will see highs around 80 degrees, up some 10 degrees from Saturday. Filtered high clouds Saturday kept our highs near 70,still way above the normal 61 degrees.
It was chilly early Saturday with an official low in Vancouver of 38 degrees but cooler in the outlying areas with a few reports of patchy frost. East winds will slowly encompass the region today and will help coastal temperatures to rise into the 70s and maybe low 80s. Monday will be the hottest day of this stretch.
Gosh, can I use the term “hot” this early in the year? I think when it reaches 80 or better I can, considering this is 20 or more degrees above average. Maybe some records will be broken again. I’m thinking I could get use to this really quickly.
I was at the coast Saturday, and let me tell you that it was a glorious day you missed. Hardly any wind, and people were sunbathing on the sand and kids playing in the tiny waves. I must say, the water was chilly. Not so good for kite-flying; you might say they were grounded.
