CAMAS — Camas residents looking to recycle large items and get rid of yard debris will be busy on Saturday.

Green Neighbors, a Clark County Department of Environmental Services program, and Camas are teaming up for a Recycling Day event 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Camas Public Works Operations, 1620 S.E. Eighth St., Camas. The city is also hosting its annual Yard Debris Day 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Triangle Resources, 612 S.E. Union St., Camas.

For Recycling Day, residents can bring block foam, electronic equipment, tires without rims, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioning units and scrap metal to be recycled. There is a limit of five tires per person. No business waste or household hazardous waste will be accepted. Household hazardous waste includes paints, pesticides, poisons, automotive fluids and chemicals.

Household garbage is allowed at the collection. The garbage must be contained properly, and residents must be able to remove the garbage from their vehicle themselves.

Recycling Day events are free and open to all Clark County residents. Proof of residency, such as a driver’s license or other identification with an address, might be required. There will be collection events taking place later this year in Ridgefield, La Center, Washougal and Vancouver. For more information, go to www.clarkgreenneighbors.org/recyclingday.html.

For Yard Debris Day, residents with a coupon can dispose of up to two cubic yards of yard debris, including tree branches, blackberry bushes or other woody vegetation. Coupons were mailed to Camas residents and are limited to one per household. For any questions, contact Denis Ryan, a Camas Public Works supervisor, at dryan@cityofcamas.us or 360-817-7983.
