Senior project is drunken-driving re-enactment to highlight dangers, consequences

Washougal — Earlier this month, Washougal High School students — through a collaboration between students, the school and city of Washougal services — watched a dramatic re-enactment that highlighted the dangers and ramifications of drinking and driving. The mock drunk-driving accident was the senior project of WHS student Dakota Payne. Payne worked with police, fire, school and city representatives to create the realistic dramatization. Some of the school’s drama students played the roles of the student drivers involved, showcasing the legal and physical consequences of drunk driving. “You can tell students the truth about drinking and driving lots of times, but showing them will help some of them to understand,” Payne said.
