A Vancouver man was arrested early Thursday morning after he allegedly threatened an officer while holding an assault rifle, according to the Vancouver Police Department.
An officer responded to a noise complaint at a residence in the 9000 block of Northeast 54th Street at about 1:10 a.m. and spoke with two people just outside an open garage door, agency spokeswoman Kim Kapp said.
The officer determined that the noise was not excessive and was leaving the property when a man exited the residence carrying an assault rifle, Kapp said.
The man, later identified as Daniel Langu, 29, locked the gun’s slide back then forward and verbally threatened the officer before retreating back into the residence, Kapp said.
Officers attempted to communicate with Langu, who eventually exited the residence and was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault related to the threats, Kapp said. No injuries were reported.
