Vancouver — Registration is now open for this year’s Sing Fourth Teen Vocal Competition, which takes place on July 4 during the annual Independence Day at Fort Vancouver festivities.
The first 45 local high school students who register can audition. Auditions will be held Saturday, May 14, at Beacock Music, 1420 S.E. 163rd Ave. A panel of judges will select 10 finalists to sing onstage during the July 4 event.
Auditions are open to high school students (or 2016 graduates) who are residents of Clark County. Bring a karaoke-style CD of musical accompaniment to the audition. Your song must be three minutes or shorter and your CD must play on a standard player. Finalists will be expected to perform the same musical number in front of a panel of celebrity judges for the Sing Fourth competition. Judging criteria will be: originality, skill, poise, likely audience appeal, and family friendly content.
The first-place winner will receive a $1,000 college scholarship, second place gets a $500 scholarship, and third place wins a $250 scholarship. All 10 finalists will receive a DVD of the Sing Fourth program.
