Three qualify for meet in Texas, others going to Montana

Three girls from Naydenov Gymnastics qualified for the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympics National Championships with strong performances in the regional championships over the weekend in Pullman.
Brooke Donabedian, Shaela Ausmus and Alma Mintier-Vegh each qualified for nationals based on their all-around scores competing at skill Level 10. The nationals take place May 6-8 at Fort Worth, Texas. The trio competes in the Junior C age division for girls born in 2001 between May 6 and Dec. 16.
Donabedian, 14, was the all-around Junior C regional champion with a score of 36.55. She was a gold medalist on the uneven parallel bars (9.275) and on the floor exercise (9.375) and took silver on the vault (9.00) and the balance beam (8.90).
Ausmus, 14, placed second all-around with a score of 36.25. She won the vault (9.225) and placed second on the uneven parallel bars (9.25) and the floor exercise (9.125). Mintier-Vegh, 13, finished with an all-around score of 35.075 to also qualify for nationals.
At Level 9, two Naydenov girls qualified for the Western National Championships, which are April 29-31 in Missoula, Mont.
Ellie Weaver, 11, won the junior all-around title for girls born after May 4, 2004 with a 36.575. She also won the uneven parallel bars (9.20) and the floor exercise (9.250). In the Junior 2 division (girls born between Sept. 12, 2003 and May 4, 2004), Jessalyn Chen, 11, placed third all-around with a score of 36.775. She won the balance beam competition (9.375) and placed second on the vault (9.250) and the uneven parallel bars (9.325).
At Level 8, Naydenov’s Kyanna Crabb, 12, placed third all-around (37.525) in the Child C age group. She won the balance beam competition (9.775) and placed third for floor exercise (9.575).
Also at Level 8, Callie Rounds of Vancouver Elite Gymnastics Academy took third place all-around (37.65) for the Junior C age division. She won on uneven parallel bars (9.50) and placed third on the balance beam (9.60).
Level 8 gymnasts do not advance beyond regionals.
