A fire badly damaged an unoccupied home in Five Corners early Sunday morning, and the investigation into what caused the fire is ongoing.
Assistant Clark County Fire Marshal Richard Martin said the home, at 9814 N.E. 69th St., had been secured, but someone apparently forced themselves in.
Martin said it wasn’t clear whether someone started a fire on accident or on purpose before leaving.
He didn’t have an official damage estimate, but guessed that the fire caused about $180,000 worth of damage to the single-story, three-bedroom home and its contents.
