Two motorcyclists, neither of whom are licensed to ride motorcycles, were injured Saturday after they failed to negotiate a corner on Highway 503 near Yale Bridge, seven miles north of Amboy.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash occurred when Joseph L. Gresko, 28, of Vancouver, and Daniel Ramirez Romero, 42, of Woodburn, Ore., were driving too fast and failed to negotiate a curve.
According to troopers, both bikers were northbound on the highway just north of Yale Bridge at 1:07 p.m. when they missed a curve to the left and ran off the right side of the road. Gresko’s bike struck a tree.
Both were taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center for medical treatment. Their bikes were totaled.
The State Patrol said Gresko will be cited for driving too fast and for lacking a motorcycle endorsement. Ramirez Romero will receive the same citations, plus an additional one for not having a valid driver’s license.
