Health Worker Report

The Columbian
Published: April 2, 2016, 5:48am

The Health Systems Quality Assurance Division of the state Department of Health recently took disciplinary actions or has withdrawn charges against these Clark County health care providers.

In January, physician Huong The Luu agreed to permanently surrender his medical license, and the Medical Commission ended his probation. Luu did not keep adequate patient or inventory records, did not follow pain-management standards and an inspection found sanitation and medication storage problems throughout his facility.

In January, the secretary of health indefinitely suspended the certified nursing assistant credential of Tangela L. Kelly. Her Arizona nursing assistant application was denied in 2015 in connection with criminal convictions and substance abuse issues.

In January, the Medical Commission accepted the license surrender of physician Michael Gilliland. He cannot practice medicine in Washington and has no right to reinstate or reapply for his license. This follows a summary restriction that happened in 2015 based on charges that he engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a patient and inappropriately treated that same patient.
