1. Spring back

It’s the First Friday of the month, and Camas is looking to “Spring into History” with a celebratory look back with games and activities at participating businesses. Visitors are encouraged to wear vintage hats or clothes. There will be a Camas history trivia game, origami demonstrations and kids crafts by Yuki Martin, a toilet paper toss in tribute to the paper mill, art shows and s’mores. The Liberty Theatre will host a “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” quote-along at 8 p.m. in celebration of the film’s 41st anniversary. Movie tickets are $5. 2. Quilt about town

This week will be blanketed by quilt shows. The 11th annual North Clark Historical Museum Quilt Show has grown to two venues this year, with displays at the North Clark Historical Museum, 21416 N.E. 399th St., and the Mt. Valley Grange, 40107 N.E. 21st Ave., Amboy. The show is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 2 and noon to 4 p.m. April 3. There will be multiple quilts on display, along with vendors, a scavenger hunt and the popular Corner Cafe, all at the Grange. At the museum, accomplished hand quilter Ruth Rudolph will do a trunk show and demonstrate her techniques with classes at 1 p.m. both days. It leads into the Clark County Quilters Annual Quilt Show, which kicks off April 7 at the Clark County Event Center at the Fairgrounds, 17402 N.E. Delfel Road, Ridgefield. The 41st annual quilt show showcases the array of quilts created by the guild members. The show features multiple categories, from art quilts to miniature, along with quilting classes and demonstrations, plus vendors. The quilt show will run 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 7 through April 9. 3. Environmental celebration

For Ridgefield’s First Saturday, visitors can learn to compost, garden responsibly and celebrate spring with multiple Earth Day activities from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 2. There will be a trail walk through Abrams Park starting at 9 a.m., plus a local farmers market, screening of short environmental films and activities organized by the Ridgefield Art Association and Friends of the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge at Overlook Park, Pioneer Street and Main Avenue, Ridgefield. The beer and wine garden will open at noon in the park. 4. Racing flowers

Enjoy the start of tulip season in the Northwest with a run through the flowers during the Tulip Trot 5K. Open to both runners and walkers, the race takes participants along the fields of Holland America Bulb Farms, 1066 S. Pekin Road, Woodland, and by the Lewis River. Gift baskets will be awarded to the fastest participants in both categories. The race benefits the Pulmonary Hypertension Association and the Woodland Food Bank. Race day registration opens at 7 a.m., with a race start at 9 a.m. April 2. Race day registration is $35 for ages 12 and older. 5. The Bard from BBC

The Kiggins Theatre will recognize the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death by screening four BBC productions. The series begins with “As You Like It (1963)” at 10 a.m. April 2, starring Vanessa Redgrave with the Royal Shakespeare Company. It will be followed by “A Midsummer Night’s Dream (1971)” at 10 a.m. April 9. “King Lear (1998)” featuring Ian Holm at 2 p.m. April 16, and a modern “The Taming of the Shrew (2005)” at 10 a.m. April 23. To conclude the series, there will be a screening of the documentary “Shakespeare and Us (2012),” which features acclaimed historian Simon Schama at 10 a.m. April 30.
