The Clark County Developmental Disabilities Advisory Board will honor employees and employers for their commitment to working with people who have developmental disabilities. The event, open to the public, is from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Heathman Lodge, 7801 N.E. Greenwood Drive, Vancouver. Community awards will recognize how people with developmental disabilities help the community create a dynamic, productive workforce, the advisory board said.
Awards will be given in the following categories:
• Large employer (50 or more employees) of people with developmental disabilities.
• Small employer (49 or fewer employees) of people with developmental disabilities.
• Employee with a developmental disability.
• Dennis Campbell Outstanding Service Award.
• Innovative New Hire.
The event’s keynote speaker is Curt Warner, business owner and former Seahawks player. October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month.
