LA CENTER — Behind its gritty defense, La Center defeated visiting Hudson’s Bay 21-0 on Friday in a non-league football game.

Jeffery Mayolo recovered a fumble and returned it 19 yards for the first score of the game in the second quarter.

Before halftime, La Center quarterback Jeremy Scott found Jake Wise for a big gain to the Bay 1-yard line, then Scott covered the final yard to give the Wildcats a 14-0 lead. In the fourth quarter, Scott found Wise in the end zone to complete the scoring.

Wise led the way, wreaking havoc on the defensive line and catching the only receptions from the Wildcats’ offense.

The defense held Hudson’s Bay to negative 8 yards rushing the entire game and kept the quarterback under duress the entire game.

The Eagle’s quarterback Jordan Hickman finished with 13 completions and 117 yards.
