Washington State University Clark County Extension is offering a free class to teach families how to be aware of the influences of food advertising.
The FoodMania Media Literacy class is for parents and children ages 9 to 14. Each class will include an interactive lesson for adults and youth, dinner and a $25 grocery store gift card. In addition to education about food advertising, participants will learn how to make healthy eating choices.
Classes will take place 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays at CASEE, 11104 N.E. 149th St., Brush Prairie. Classes run from Oct. 7 through Nov. 18. The deadline to sign up for classes is Oct. 2.
