Kalama running back Jasper Pulido was the first of five different Chinooks to score, but he saved his best for the last two plays of the game.
Pulido’s 11-yard touchdown run and subsequent two-point conversion run as Kalama spoiled King’s Way Christian’s homecoming 42-41 two overtimes.
It appeared that King’s Way had gained ultimate control in the first overtime when Matt Garrison intercepted Kalama quarterback Isaac Truesdell on the first play.
Despite getting as close as the Kalama 1-yard line following the turnover, the Knights surrendered a significant loss from scrimmage on what appeared to be a broken play on a third-and-goal attempt. On fourth down, a 27-yard field goal attempt missed.
