CAMAS — The Camas offense put up some nice numbers in the home opener for the top-ranked Papermakers.
But it was the defense that was truly dominant on Friday in a 56-7 win over Rogers of Puyallup at Doc Harris Stadium.
The Camas first-string defense gave up a net of 17 yards, playing most of the first three quarters.
Rogers finished the night with a negative 34 rushing yards. The Rams didn’t have much more success throwing the ball, with two quarterbacks combining to throw for 120 yards — most of them late in the game. Sophomore quarterback Kaiden Hammond, who replaced Rogers starter Jordan Bishop for the middle portion of the game, was intercepted on three consecutive throws in one stretch.
