The Prevent! Coalition and a handful of local agencies are hosting a prescription drug take-back event later this month.

Clark County residents can dispose of expired or unused medicines — both controlled substances and over-the-counter medicines — at one of four take-back locations in Vancouver and Battle Ground.

The following locations are open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 26:

• PeaceHealth Memorial Health Center, 100 E. 33rd St., Vancouver.

• Kaiser Permanente Cascade Park, 12607 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver.

• Kaiser Permanente Salmon Creek, 14406 N.E. 20th Ave., Vancouver.

• Battle Ground Police Department, 507 S.W. First St., Battle Ground.

The event is sponsored by Prevent! a local nonprofit aimed at curbing teen alcohol and drug abuse, in partnership with Clark County Environmental Resources, Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Vancouver Police Department, Battle Ground Police Department, Kaiser Permanente, PeaceHealth and Prevent Together: Battle Ground Prevention Alliance.
