Evergreen won the first half turnover battle to jump out to a 19-0 start. But it was the first turnover of the game that ultimately broke the Plainsmen’s early momentum.
Todd Beamer junior linebacker Lincoln Mitchell-Liulama picked up a Marquis Sampson fumble in the third quarter and went 16 yards untouched, giving the Titans their first lead of the game, en route to the victory.
Evergreen sophomore linebacker Dustin Nettles intercepted two different Titan quarterbacks in the first half that helped give the Plainsmen a big early lead.
But the Titans continued to stick to their their ground attack, garnering a game total of 49 team carries, led by a combined 200 yards rushing and two touchdowns by Isaiah Lord and Andrew Tofaeono.
