Austin Dodge is taking his talents north.
The former Skyview quarterback signed with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League on Thursday.
Dodge confirmed his signing in a text to The Columbian. The team hasn’t announced terms of the deal.
“I’m really excited,” Dodge said. “It’s a very welcoming and successful organization. I’m just excited to get an opportunity to continue to pursue my dream.”
Last fall, Dodge became the NAIA’s all-time leading passer in leading Southern Oregon to the national championship.
He signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent and attended the team’s rookie minicamp. But he wasn’t on the team’s roster for training camp this summer.
Calgary is currently in first place in the West Division at 8-2. The Stampeders have eight regular season games remaining.
