Fruit Valley — A new tool library is coming to the Fruit Valley neighborhood thanks to the Fruit Valley Foundation, Evergreen Habitat for Humanity and Lowe’s home improvement store in Orchards. On Sept. 3 and 4, volunteers built a shed that will house the library. Five volunteers from the Lowe’s Heroes program worked with two staff members from Habitat and about five volunteers from Habitat on the construction, according to Heather Cochrun, community outreach coordinator for Evergreen Habitat for Humanity, who added that the library is expected to be ready by the end of September. The library also is looking for tool donations, including hammers and shovels, which will be available to residents of the Fruit Valley neighborhood. Anyone interested in donating tools or signing up to use them is asked to contact Cochrun at volunteer@ehfh.org or 360-737-1759.
