A man’s body was found hanging in a wooded area in Brush Prairie, and his death apparently was a suicide, according to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

A person walking along a wooded trail near the Country Manor Mobile Village reported finding a body hanging from a tree at about 9 a.m. Sunday. The mobile home park is at 15619 N.E. Caples Road, east of state Highway 503.

Sheriff’s investigators learned that the body was that of a man with a history of mental illness and who was reported as a missing and endangered person last week, said Sgt. Robert Latter.

It appeared that the body had been in the woods for several days, and that the cause of death was suicide, Latter said.
