Washougal 29, Stevenson 0

Capitalizing on four turnovers during a stifling defensive performance the Washougal Panthers defeated the Stevenson Bulldogs at Fishback Stadium.

The Panthers defense set the tone in the second quarter, accounting for nine points, including a safety from defensive back Marcos Martinez and an interception return from linebacker Donald Hobert.

Kyle Hoesly paced the Panthers on offense as he rushed for 117 yards and a touchdown.

Although the Panthers fumbled the football three times themselves, the defense gave them a large enough lead to rely on their rushing attack for a convincing season opening victory.
