Gas prices in Vancouver have dropped by 10 cents in a week,and are now averaging $2.88 per gallon, AAA Oregon/Idaho reported Tuesday.
Washington’s average price for unleaded gasoline is $2.94, down eight cents for the week. Oregon’s average is $2.93, down nine cents, and a gallon of gasoline in Portland costs $2.84, also down nine cents from a week ago.
The week’s price drops, averaging more than a penny per day, are the fastest declines since December, AAA said. With a national average of $2.46, most U.S. drivers will pay the least since 2004 to fill up over the Labor Day weekend, the automobile club reported.
The West remains the nation’s most expensive region for gasoline, with Alaska, California Nevada, Hawaii and Washington the five most expensive states. Oregon ranked seventh in gas prices.
