Trick-or-treating is getting high-tech.
Little goblins and wicked witches no longer have to rely on porch lights to tell them whether neighbors are handing out sweets on Halloween night. Instead, they and their parents can now plot their candy-seeking course with the help of a social media feature, Nextdoor’s Treat Map.
The map allows trick-or-treaters to see which houses are handing out candy and which are not. The catch, of course, is not everyone is using the Nextdoor site, so the map isn’t an inclusive list for all neighborhoods.

State Trooper Brandon Kesler was working on the coast some time ago when he pulled over a driver, and because the shoulders in the area were so narrow, he had to approach the vehicle from the driver’s side.
Then a pickup with a camper trailer came barreling down the road from behind — and right next to him.
“He didn’t slow down or move over, and he was about 4 inches from his trailer hitting me,” he said. “That’s my close call.”

The owners and developers of the new Black Rock Coffee Bar know they’re occupying a rather historic spot in downtown Vancouver, and they don’t want any of their patrons to forget it.
The coffee shop, which opened Oct. 9, is located in the former Sparks Home Furnishings building at 1001 Broadway. The store closed last year after 132 years in Vancouver. The property is owned by Hurley Development.

They brought in solid defensive acquisition in Al-Farouq Aminu, giving them a defender they’ve never really had.
