Johnston Ridge Observatory to close for winter

TOUTLE — This is the final weekend until next spring to visit Johnston Ridge Observatory on the north side of Mount St. Helens.

The facility at the end of state Highway 504 will be closed for winter beginning Monday.

Open hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The day-use fee is $8 per person. Children age 15 and young are admitted free.

Johnston Ridge also accepts annual or lifetime federal recreation passes.
