Camas senior tapped for Army band

Camas — Isaac Hodapp, a senior at Camas High School, was selected for the 2016 U.S. Army All-American Marching Band by the U.S. Army Field Band and the National Association for Music Education. Hodapp was honored at an assembly at Camas on Oct. 13, where he was presented with a jacket and hat. He will perform at halftime of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, on Jan. 9, 2016. Hodapp was the only musician picked for the 125-person band from the 10-state Northwest region. To get into the band, Hodapp had to be recommended by his principal and band director, and submit a video interview displaying his character and leadership. He then had to submit another video interview, and a videos of him playing trumpet and playing while marching.
