Indian women focus of film at free show

A free showing of a documentary film about American Indian women will be at 11 a.m. Nov. 7 at the Kiggins Theatre, 1011 Main St. in Vancouver.

The Clark County Historical Museum will provide the free viewing of “A Thousand Voices.” The documentary looks at the shared history of Indian women in New Mexico, and how they represent traditional values in the face of modern cultural influences.

The voices and advisers are from the Navajo Nation, Mescalero Apache Tribe, Jicarilla Apache Tribe, Kiowa Tribe, Pueblo de Cochiti, Ohkay Owingeh, and pueblos of Acoma, Laguna, Jemez, Santo Domingo, Pojoaque, Santa Clara, Taos, Nambe and San Ildefonso.
