Week 6 fall sports prep athlete of the week nominees

Weekly vote, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian fall sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Oct. 17.

Athletes may win the honor once in during the regular season and cannot be nominated in consecutive weeks.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

EMILY HAIN, MOUNTAIN VIEW SWIMMING: Hain won the 200 IM and 100 fly and was two winning relays in a meet at LaCamas Swim & Sport.

BROOKE MOSIER, UNION VOLLEYBALL: Mosier had 27 kills, 10 aces and 28 digs in two league wins for the Titans.

JOSE IGNACIO PEREZ, HUDSON’S BAY TENNIS: Perez capped league play with a win then was the singles runner-up in the 2A sub-district tournament.

SPENCER TIBBITS, FORT VANCOUVER GOLF: Tibbits shot a 7-under 137 for 36 holes to win a third consecutive district meet by 7 shots.

ELLIE WALKER, COLUMBIA RIVER SOCCER: Walker scored all four goals in the Chieftains’ 1-0 win over Kelso and 4-0 win over Tumwater.
