R.A. Long freshman Eric Grimes won the 2A sub-district tennis title on Saturday with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Jose Ignacio Perez of Hudson’s Bay at Mint Valley Racquet Club in Longview.

Washougal’s doubles team of Christian Rambousek and Santiago Altieri defeated David Pang and Yann Kaufman of R.A. Long 7-6, 7-6 for the title and earned a spot at 2A district next weekend in Olympia.

Ignacio Perez, teammate Paul Copeland, and Washougal’s Greg Lyall advanced in singles to district.

The top three placers from the district tournament qualify for state, which is held in May.
