WASHOUGAL — It was an unforgettable night for many Friday at Fishback Stadium. It was senior night for Washougal.

It was also Cameron Loos’ 18th birthday — and the Hockinson tight-end had a party of on the way to a 52-0 victory over Washougal.

Loos scored on his first three offensive touches with touchdown catches of 21, 32 and 55 yards. He finished with 165 receiving yards.

Loos had been itching to break out and turn solid gains into game-breakers, which he did on Friday.

“Man it’s awesome,” he said after the game. “I’ve never had a game like this in my life. I’ll always remember this.”

Loos joked that he had pined for some extra love on his birthday.

But it was one play in particular that was the icing on the cake.

With the clock ticking away in the first half, the Hawks busted out a hook-and-ladder play, which ended with Loos scoring after he ran the final 44 yards of a 54-yard pass play. Quaterback Racanelli found receiver Cole Walker for 10 yards, then Walker lateraled the ball to Loos, who went the distance for the TD.

“Loos had been asking us to run that play for a while now,” Hockinson head coach Rick Steele said.

“All of it was birthday presents, man,” Loos said. “I told (Steele), ‘You know, it’s my birthday. Could I get a couple extra?’ ”

The play got the game into the running clock zone and capped off an unforgettable night for Loos.

“Playing with these dudes, there’s nothing better,” Loos said.

But the Hawks did not get the night off for the rest of the game.

They tacked on a few more scores, but mostly, Steele wanted to make sure that his team stays in shape for when playoffs come around and blowouts do not come around so easily.

“We played our kids the whole fourth quarter,” Steele said. “We have to get ready for playoffs. Last week against Ridgefield we were tired in the fourth quarter.”

Hockinson’s Kedrick Johnson got the scoring going with a 60-yard punt return for a touchdown in the first quarter.

From that point on, it seemed like the scores just kept on coming, with Loos leading the way.

Matt Henry also got in on the act in special teams, returning a punt 53 yards for his own touchdown.

Washougal’s Kade Coons led the Panthers with 40 receiving yards on seven catches.

“This was probably the most complete game we’ve played this year, on both sides of the ball, special teams, everything,” Steele said.
