The Prairie running game dominated as the Falcons took command early for a non-league win in Longview.

Lukas Daniel ran for 176 yards and three touchdowns, including a 58-yarder to open the scoring.

Prairie led 21-0 after the first quarter, which was more than enough against an R.A. Long team that lost quarterback Owen Bertram to aseason-ending shoulder injury a week earlier.

Prairie ran the ball on 37 of its 38 offensive plays, netting 340 yards. Quarterback Kevin Aguirre carried 14 times for 134 yards and two touchdowns.

“We were running the option and our kids ran hard and our offensive line blocked well,” Prairie coach Kevin Baker said.

R.A. Long finished with 91 yards of offense, only 31 yards on the ground.
