Landover-Sharmel — For his Eagle Scout project, Clayton Wahlstrom of Troop 462 donated 35 musical instruments to Evergreen Public Schools.
Wahlstrom collected the instruments, along with more than $1,500 for repairs, from Vancouver and Portland residents, and presented them to Don Nelson, manager of the district’s fine and performing arts program.
The instruments will go to students who aren’t able to rent or purchase an instrument of their own.
Some repairs are still needed for the instruments, and anyone interested in donating money for repairs is asked to email Wahlstrom at musicalinstrumentdrive@gmail.com.
