By the time the nominees for Woodland’s homecoming court members were able to share their favorite school memories during halftime, the team’s signal caller and top receiver had already entertained the crowd with a few of their own.
Wyatt Harsh completed 18 of 21 passes for 199 yards and three touchdowns in the first half alone, and Tyler Flanagan extended his touchdown scoring streak to five games as Woodland routed Washougal in a 2A Greater St. Helens League game.
Flanagan tallied eight first-half receptions on the offensive end, while leading the Beaver defense with two turnovers. The freshman defensive back intercepted his counterpart, Daniel Davis on an attempted end-around pass and scampered 29 yards for the final score of the game.
Thanks to Harsh’s early throwing precision, Flanagan’s ability to run after catch and running back Tristan Thomas averaging over six yards per carry to go along with two scores of his own, Woodland shot out to an impressive 42 point first half lead.
