Boys basketball: Mountain View 63, Ridgefield 53

Alex Bailey scored 17 points to lead the Thunder to a non-league road win in their season opener.

“Big win for our program to start 1-0 after the last couple of years,” Mountain View coach Aaron Shepherd said. “The kids are excited, and they are believing.”

Colin Biggs and Darien Chase added eight points each for the Thunder.

Travis Gottsch paced the Spudders with 15 points.
