Washougal — Washougal High School’s Bridgette McCarthy, Michael Stevens and Carson Connors presented at the National Prevention Network Conference in Seattle on Nov. 19.

They were some of 200-plus students invited to attend National Youth Leadership Initiative Training, which aims to provide a framework for solving any community problem.

The training uses a public health approach to substance abuse prevention, building on science-based community problem-solving processes researched and documented by the World Health Organization Collaborating Centre Workgroup for Community Health and Development at University of Kansas, according to a release from the conference.
