Hazel Dell — Clark County Fire District 6’s IAFF Local 1805 union is participating in Operation Warm for another year. The local donated 30 coats to kids from low-income families on Nov. 18 at Hazel Dell Elementary. The firefighters also sized students from Sarah J. Anderson Elementary for coats and have plans to size and deliver jackets to kids at Eisenhower Elementary School and Salmon Creek Elementary School. Benjamin Thomas, of Clark County Fire District 6, wrote in an email that the goal is to deliver 100 coats, which would match their total from last year. “A new coat allows families to stretch limited financial resources to other basic necessities like food and shelter,” Brandon Franck, Local 1805 firefighter, said in a release. “Our children and schools benefit from this program in more ways than one.”
