LONGVIEW — Nascent naturalists looking to volunteer at Mount St. Helens are invited to take a series of classes that run from Jan. 6 to April 13.
The 14-week course costs $250, which includes books, materials and a volunteer uniform. Classes are set for Lower Columbia College in Longview from 6 to 9 p.m Wednesdays.
Those taking the course are required to commit to 60 or more volunteer hours at the volcano within five months of completing the geology, ecology and natural history classes.
