Mount Hood Meadows plans limited skiing on Saturday

Mount Hood Meadows will offer four hours of skiing on limited beginner terrain on Saturday.

The ski area will operate its Buttercup chairlift from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday as part of its Pray for Snow season preview event.

This week’s stormy weather has built a 10-inch base at the 5,400-foot elevation level and 27 inches at 6,000 feet.

Crews are harvesting snow to build a swath under Buttercup, plus colder temperatures are allowing for snowmaking, Meadows officials said Thursday.

A five-rail park is planned from 3 to 8:30 p.m.

Unlimited season passes, Southside, midweek and night passes will be honored on Saturday. Otherwise, a Buttercup chairlift ticket, which includes entry into the rail park, will be $10.
