Major crimes detectives with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office are investigating a Wednesday assault that left a Vancouver man seriously injured.

Deputies were dispatched at 3 p.m. to a home at 6007 N.E. 105th Ave., in the Maple Tree neighborhood of Orchards, after a report of an assault.

They found a man identified as Antone B. Rydberg, 56, of Vancouver with a serious head wound. He had apparently been clubbed with a length of pipe, according to a news release. Rydberg was taken to a hospital for treatment. The wound did not appear to be life-threatening, deputies said.

Rydberg does not live at the address, deputies say, and there is no suspect information.
