A woman connected to a robbery that involved an assault with a bicycle lock was sentenced in Clark County Superior Court to 45 days in jail.

Dorothy Sayers, 26, a transient, pleaded guilty Wednesday to second-degree rendering criminal assistance stemming from the Sept. 29 incident. She initially was charged with first-degree robbery, but that charge was downgraded in exchange for her guilty plea.

Two co-defendants in the case, Kevin McCarter, 50, and Stephanie Boehning, 24, are still set to go to trial.

Sayers recruited Boehning to allegedly lure a 53-year-old victim to the 100 block of Southeast Columbia Way, where McCarter was waiting for them, according to a probable cause affidavit. He’s accused of repeatedly hitting the victim in the head with a bicycle lock while demanding his money.

The victim escaped after stabbing McCarter in the left rib cage, court records said. It’s unclear if the suspects received any money.

McCarter told police that Sayers said the victim was “trying to buy girls,” so he decided to rob him, the affidavit said.

During the hearing, Sayer’s defense attorney, Shon Bogar, said the victim had propositioned his client for sex.

Judge David Gregerson ordered Sayers to serve 45 days. She was given credit for 41 days in custody.
