A Battle Ground woman who was missing overnight was found Monday morning by Fire District 3 personnel.

Donna Davis, 72, was found in the 28100 block of Northeast 212th Avenue, east of Heisson, about 9:50 a.m. Clark County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Duncan Hoss said she would be medically checked for injuries and exposure but appeared to be in good condition.

Davis left for a drive Sunday evening but never arrived home. She later used her cellphone to call and report that she was lost and that her car was stuck.

The search for Davis began about 11 p.m., according to a news release from the sheriff’s office. A ping from her cellphone showed she was somewhere in the northern Battle Ground, Heisson or Yacolt area, but deputies were unable to pinpoint the exact location. Rescuers searched rural roads and driveways to find Davis, who was driving a gray 2007 Honda Accord.

Davis had reported she was driving on a gravel road and got stuck in a grassy area. She said she could see lights of homes in the distance but was unable to reach them.

A resident of the area described the location where she was found as steep and wooded.

Shortly after Davis was found, deputies mounted another search, which also resulted in a happy ending. This time, a 3-year-old girl was reported missing in the Paradise Point area west of La Center. She was located after about an hour and returned to her mother.
