BATTLE GROUND — The Battle Ground City Council on Monday will vote on extending a temporary marijuana business ban.
The city first passed the moratorium on new businesses on Oct. 5 and may extend it up to six months.
City staff say they need more time to get the city’s rules in order after the Legislature overhauled the medical and recreational markets earlier this year.
Existing businesses, such as the city’s lone retailer, will still be allowed to operate, as the moratorium only applies to new applicants.
A public hearing will precede a vote at Monday’s 7 p.m. meeting at City Hall, 109 S.W. First St.
