LYLE — Anglers in the Klickitat River will be limited to one coho per day beginning Saturday.

The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife announced the bag limit reduction Thursday as adult hatchery coho returns are behind schedule and spawning goals at Klickitat Salmon Hatchery may not be met.

The daily limit will be six salmon, of which no more than three may be adults and no more than one adult coho. Any coho, fin-clipped or not, may be retained. Wild chinook must be released.

Salmon are being collected at Fishway No. 5 in the lower Klickitat to help reach the hatchery spawning goal.
