Week 9 fall sports prep athlete of the week nominees

Weekly vote, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian fall sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Nov. 7.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

RACHEL BLAIR, CAMAS GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Blair was the top local finisher at the state meet, finishing fourth in the 4A meet in 18:10.

SILAS GRIFFITH, RIDGEFIELD BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Griffith was the top local finisher in the state meet, finishing fifth in the 2A meet in 15:44.

ELLIE WALKER, COLUMBIA RIVER SOCCER: Walker had six goals and two assists in two wins as River clinched at state berth.

ASHLEY WATKINS, BATTLE GROUND VOLLEYBALL: Watkins had 76 assists and 34 kills in three wins as the Tigers won district and advanced to state.

COLLEEN WOODS, HERITAGE: Woods won the 100 butterfly and 50 freestyle at the 4A district meet.
