Skyview held off Monroe 28-21 in the 4A football playoffs at Monroe to advance to the state tournament and a date with Camas next week.

Blake Ingram scored two touchdowns, and Josh Seynaeve’s 1-yard TD run with 2:42 to play in the third quarter put Skyview ahead for good.

Quarterback Brody Barnum connected on a 15-yard touchdown pass to Skyler Martin to put Skyview ahead 28-14 not long after the fourth quarter began.

Monroe cut the 14-point deficit to seven with 1:57 to play in the game on a 1-yard touchdown run by sophomore Kainalu Batongbacal. The Bearcats attempt an onside kick and recovered, igniting the crowd and their sideline.
