Vancouver — The number of Washington residents tied to the Chipotle E. coli outbreak remains at 28, while Oregon health officials reported a 13th case on Friday.
In total, 41 people have contracted an E. coli infection after eating at 10 Chipotle restaurants across Washington and Oregon. Clark County health officials are still reporting 11 cases.
Fourteen people have been hospitalized in the two states. No deaths have been reported.
On Friday, Lake Oswego, Ore., resident Chris Collins filed a lawsuit against Chipotle. Collins said he contracted an E. coli infection after eating a chicken bowl at the Lake Oswego Chipotle on Oct. 23. Earlier this week, Kelso resident Charmaine Mode filed a lawsuit against the restaurant chain.
Health officials continue to investigate the outbreak while more than 40 Chipotle restaurants in Oregon and Washington remain under a voluntary closure.
